On 8 May, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified the Agreement on Cooperation with the United States in the field of minerals. 338 MPs voted in favour of the decision - the document was adopted as a basis and as a whole.

The results of the voting became known from the plenary session of the parliament and a report by MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak (Holos), who made public the factional distribution of votes.

  • The value of the deal

An intergovernmental agreement between Ukraine and the United States on mineral resources was signed on 1 May. It provides for the establishment of the Reconstruction Investment Fund, a key mechanism for attracting international investment in the development of the Ukrainian economy and post-war recovery.

According to Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, the document takes into account the interests of both parties and creates favourable conditions for bilateral investment.

On 6 May, the Verkhovna Rada's Foreign Policy Committee supported the ratification of the agreement, after which it was put to a vote in parliament.
